Coronary Calcium Scan

A Coronary Calcium Scan is a quick, non-invasive CT examination that looks for calcified plaque in the coronary arteries.

The scan provides a calcium score, which can help your doctor assess your cardiovascular risk alongside other health factors.

What does your Calcium score mean?

The scan measures the amount of calcified plaque in your coronary arteries and produces a calcium score.

A higher score generally indicates more calcified plaque. Your doctor will interpret your score together with your age, cholesterol, blood pressure, family history and other risk factors.
